PERU 2017

Prior Missions Experience: We prefer that any student applying for an overseas mission trip has already participated in Mission Mexico.  If you have not been to Mexico with us feel free to apply but know that we will want to discuss your readiness for an overseas missions trip during your interview.

Location: Trujillo, Peru

Why Peru? We are passionate about connecting our students with the kingdom work that international workers are doing around the world. The C&MA (Christian and Missionary Alliance) partners with an organization called Incalink which focuses on the countries of Ecuador, Peru and Colombia. Their mission is to reach the 300 million youth in Latin America with Christ's irresistible love. They do this through discipleship and evangelism, training leaders, connecting people, and compassion ministries.

Housing: Children’s Ministry Center. There are showers with hot water, twin beds, kitchens and couches.

Transportation: Flights to Peru and transportation provided by IncaLink in country.

Dates: July 12-24, 2017 *please be available 3 days prior and after these dates as we search for the cheapest flights.

Informational Meeting: This is an optional meeting that gives parents or students the opportunity to ask questions before the application deadline. This will be held November 20th in the Youth Center @ 12:30pm.

Cost: 2,500 *estimate

Application Deadline: The online application is due December 11th. A $100 deposit is required with your application. If you are not selected to be on the Peru team your deposit will be refunded in full.

Interviews: As part of the application you will sign up for an interview date. The interviews will take place at Salem Alliance Church Main Building in Brian Condello’s office. If you need to reschedule after submitting application please contact Ashley Dalen.

-You will receive a call on December 16th letting you know if you were selected for the team.

Here are some sample questions that you can be thinking about before coming to your interview:

  • Tell us about your faith journey and when you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior.
  • What is a strength you have that you would bring to this team?  What is a weakness?
  • How do you deal with conflict and/or stress?
  • Why do you want to be a part of this trip?
  • What is your financial plan for raising the money needed?
  • Where are you currently serving?

Commitment: We will have a team meeting every month starting in January up until we leave. Our first team meeting will be January 29th at 9am in the Broadway commons building on the 4th floor in the RTI space.

Each member will be responsible for sending out support letters/emails and fully raising their support. You will also be required to participate in the Great Expectations Fundraiser February 8-10th. Money raised will go towards each individual’s balance of the trip.

Authorization for Foreign Travel
