The Family Gathers

From now through September 12, we will have the following changes:

• Saturday Worship Services will be at 5:00 pm only.

• Sunday Worship Services in the Worship Center are as regularly scheduled.

• Activities and childcare for ages 0-4 available each service, except for the 8:00 am Sunday service.

• Children & Youth entering grades K–12 will not meet for their regular programs July 31 - September 12.

• Adult Shepherding Groups will not meet July 31 - September 12. We celebrate our volunteers andgive them a much deserved break during these weeks.

School Supply Drive This Weekend

It’s here! We are now accepting donations of backpacks and school supplies in the marked bins on either end of the lobby this weekend and next weekend, August 7/8. We’re partnering with our local Boys & Girls Club to distribute these items to hundreds of neighborhood students. Got time? Volunteer to help get the supplies into the hands of kids! Opportunities are available to sort items, stuff backpacks and distribute them directly to the children. To help, please contact Jodi Loper at the Boys & Girls Club. She can be reached at 503-581-7383, x32 or jloper@bgc-salem.org Times to serve include August 9 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm (sorting and stuffing), August 12 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm (backpack giveaway to club members) and August 14 from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm (during the health fair, including set-up and clean-up).

Grief Support Group

Have you experienced a significant loss? A new grief and loss support group will begin at the end of September. Group size will be limited. If you are interested, please contact Gordon Bergman at 503-581-2129, or gbergman@salemalliance.org

Kindergarten Registration

Incoming Kindergarten parents, please complete a registration form for your child to be placed in a small group for weekend services. Pick up a form in your child's classroom or click here to register online.

Shepherding Groups Community Groups

“Some things in life may change, but some things they stay the same.”

So the lyrics of the song state! The same is true of mid-sized groups at Salem Alliance. Beginning September 1, 2010, these groups will be known as Community Groups.

A new name, but they stay the same:

• A place to connect and build relationships

• A place of caring and support

• A place to learn and to grow in Jesus Christ

• A place from which to serve

• A place to experience community in Christ

Praying for Our Church Family

The church family prayer team that meets on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm is taking a break for the summer. If you would like to pray for our church family from home, contact Rebecca at the church office or randerson@salemalliance.org to receive a copy of weekly requests. You can also pick up a copy at the Prayer Board near the Reception Desk.

August in Preschool – Check Us Out!

During August our volunteers take a break, but our children keep coming! This provides a wonderful opportunity for you to see what it is like to serve in Preschool Ministries. We invite you to come in and be a part of blessing our volunteers, families and children. Men’s Golf

Peacemakers Coaching

If you find yourself in the midst of a conflict and would like to have some individual help resolving it in a Christ-like way, sign up at the Registration Desk and a coach will be assigned to you as soon as possible.

Heartbeat-4-Missions

Pack your lunch and come join Alliance women joyfully cutting and trimming stamps and labels for our global missions projects!

• First Tuesday of every month from 9:30 am - 2:00 pm in Room 105

• Drop-ins welcomed and encouraged

• No childcare provided
