How Do I Find Help?
God has given our church a vision to help make Salem a City at Peace with God.  It is our hope that these Salem Alliance and community partner resources will help you receive His peace by addressing basic, relational, and personal needs. For specific information on availability and type of services, please contact the ministry or agency directly.

The Royal Order Of Red Suspenders (RORS)
A ministry of Salem Alliance Church that provides seasoned, cut, split firewood delivered for free to those in need. RORS accepts donations of wood from the community.  When excess wood stores allow, RORS sells firewood with the proceeds going to fund the ministry.

    • Need Firewood: As of April 1, 2018, RORS is closed for the season.  We will begin receiving requests for firewood from those in need for heating their homes again on October 1, 2018.  During this off-season, we do not receive requests on our phone line, or via the email button below.  Requests made during off-season are not answered.  Thank you!

    • Donate Wood to RORS:   RORS may be able to accept smaller (1-2 trees) donations of wood.  We only accept donations of trees that are already down, and only these types: Douglas fir, oak, alder, ash, and maple.  When emailing us (click the button below) please provide your name, phone number, physical address where the wood is located, and email address if you have one.  Please also let us know the approximate amount, type of wood, and how accessible it is to pick up with a truck (front yard, back yard, behind a fence, etc..) Thank you!

Purchase Firewood:  As of 4/1/18, we may have firewood to sell.  Wood is fir, oak, or maple, cut into standard firewood lengths, split, and seasoned.  It is sold at reasonable prices and the proceeds are used to take care of supply and equipment needs to keep the ministry functioning.  If you would like to purchase some firewood, please click the button below and complete the form, which will be emailed to someone in our ministry, who will contact you.

Furniture Bank
Our Furniture Bank is on hiatus as we gather new volunteers and re-build this ministry.  We hope to be operational again in May of 2018.  During this hiatus, we are not maintaining the phone message line listed below.

We are however, accepting volunteer help from those who have completed an SAC Volunteer Application and Criminal Background Check.  You can inquire about becoming a volunteer here:

You may email Melanie at if you have questions.

Furniture Bank delivers gently used household items to individuals and families who are making a "fresh start" in life and need some help putting a home together.

  • Did you just move into a place and are in need of some basic household items and/or furniture to get started?
  • Are these items ones that you can't afford to purchase on your own?

Call 503.581.2129 x241 and leave a message for our volunteer team that will contact you to see if there is a way we can come alongside you in your time of need.

Block Party Kit: We are pleased to be able to provide our Block Party Kit so that you can reach out to your neighborhood and promote fellowship and community!

Fall Kick-Off:  Salem Alliance welcomes the neighborhood to our campus as we kick off all our fall programs.  Usually the 2nd weekend of September.  We provide the hot dogs, root beer, and bounce houses for family fun throughout our weekend services on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

Parrish/Grant/Highland School Partnerships/Mentoring – We so appreciate the excellent work that our neighborhood schools are doing to build strength into our community.  We partner with them to support their initiatives and accomplish more together than we could separately.

Parrish/Grant/Highland School Staff Care:  We appreciate the staff at our neighborhood schools and reach out to support them monthly by providing goodies for their monthly staff meetings.  We may also provide support during their conferences as well.

Trunk-Or-Treat:  Salem Alliance welcomes the neighborhood to come trick-or-treat our decorated trunks on the Saturday nearest Halloween in October. Noon to 3 PM.

Thanksgiving Baskets:  Salem Alliance provides Thanksgiving Baskets to families in need who are receiving from our partner ministries (Broadway Life Center, Salem for Refugees, Feed Salem, RORS, Furniture Bank) and from our neighborhood schools (Highland, Grant, and Parrish).   Due to high demand, this ministry does not serve the general public.

Thanksgiving Eve: This happens the Wednesday evening prior to Thanksgiving and is an opportunity for our church community to bring food donations which will then be boxed and provided to our neighbors in need by Feed Salem, Salem Alliance's food box ministry.  Shopping lists will be available in the lobby well in advance and food can be brought on Thanksgiving Eve, or anytime following as Feed Salem operates with food distributions on the third Saturday of the month from December through May, as long as food supplies last.

Tree of Giving: Salem Alliance works with school partners Grant, Parrish, and Highland to provide Christmas gifts for families in need from these schools each Christmas.  Due to high demand, this ministry does not serve the general public.
