Project: Back to School
School Supply Drive
We are gearing up for our partnered back-to-school event with our local Boys & Girls Club in which supplies will be distributed to club members in mid-August. School supplies and backpacks will be collected in early August at the church (July 31-August 13) and will be distributed to neighborhood children as well as children at the various Boys and Girls Club sites. Keep your eye out for good deals and help prepare a student to head back to school strong this fall. School Supply lists are located at the reception desk and at the info desk on weekends. Questions? Contact Bex Mann at bmann@salemalliance.org.

Angels Ministry
Volunteers make and/or deliver lunches to the homeless of Salem living on the streets and in camps. Volunteers who make lunches provide the ingredients for the lunches and drop them off on their assigned day of the week. Delivery team members go out into the community in the early morning hours to drop off the lunches. Come and get to know this amazing group of folks that we get the blessing of serving on a regular basis!

Foster Parent Night Out
This ministry team provides respite for foster families at SAC and our neighborhood on a monthly basis at our Foster Parent Night Out (FPNO) events. Events take place on the second Thursday of the month from 5:00pm - 9:00pm. Volunteers help by building relationship with kids through activities, crafts, serving dinner, and just being there for children ages 0 - 18. Training is provided. Consider being a part of this amazing team of people who love foster kids and want them to know just how much God loves them!

Grant School Mentor
Spend time with a student at Grant school during their lunch or recess period to intentionally develop a healthy relationship with a child, inspiring them to do well in school, make healthy choices and to know they are loved and valued. Mentors meet on a semi-regular basis for encouragement, equipping and inspiration.

Hands 4 Christ
Servants who gather to crochet blankets for the newborns at Salem Alliance and for infants in our city that might not otherwise have a new clean blanket for their baby. This ministry partners with Baby Boutique, Angels Ministry, and community agencies to provide beautiful hand-made blankets, hats and scarves. The group meets weekly and loves to welcome new people as well as receive yarn donations. They are willing to teach!

Neighborhood Christmas Outreach
During the Christmas Season, we have the chance to bless our community in a special way by purchasing, wrapping and delivering gifts to children in our neighborhood and community. This ministry opportunity is accomplished in partnership with community agencies, which may include Prison Fellowship and neighborhood groups within Grant and Highland Neighborhoods. Check this website for updates as we get nearer to the Christmas season!

Royal Order of Red Suspenders
People who love to be in the outdoors split, chop, stack & deliver firewood for individuals and families who would not be able to heat their homes without this assistance. Men and women meet on a monthly basis for a time of fellowship and a busy work day. Delivery drivers take the wood to people's homes throughout the weeks during the colder months.Donations of wood to this ministry can be made by completing the donation form in the left-hand column. Due to liability issues, RORS does not fell trees in residential areas. Only wood that is already down (for less than one year) will be accepted unless it is in rural areas away from buildings and power lines.

Storage Unit Ministry
Volunteers pick up and deliver gently used household items to individuals and families who are making a “fresh start” in life and need some help putting a home together. Interested volunteers are invited to do a "ride along" with the ministry team to see just how special this ministry is to the families who we serve! Donations of household furniture and items in very good or almost new condition can be made to this ministry. Please note that we do not accept appliances or sleeper sofas.

Thanksgiving Food Baskets
Individuals, families and groups can sponsor a family from the Grant/Highland Neighborhood or our church family for Thanksgiving by providing the makings for a Thanksgiving feast and delivering the basket in person to the family. This is a very tangible way to share God's love in a practical way at a special time of year, helping to provide hope and caring to a family in need.
