Our sermon series on Jeremiah ends next week, and so do our small group Bible Studies. Simultaneously, other small groups also come to a close: Foundations, Hearts at Home, Single Moms, Mom’s of Hope, various other women’s groups, Blended Families, Hannah’s Hope, Marriage Groups, Life Path and STEPS groups and some of our men’s High Quest Groups, to name a few.

So, on behalf of our Group Life Team and our pastoral staff, I want to say thank you. Thank you to 183 of you who faithfully led Salem Alliance small groups this year. You made a huge difference in the lives of 1,495 adults. You provided a place for meaningful friendships to develop, faith to grow and lives to change. You provided spiritual community, much like Jesus did for His disciples.

I’m confident your group members and your leadership experience enriched your life and personal faith. Leadership always takes us to a new depth with God. But, I also know there were weeks when you were weary, discouraged or struggled to complete your preparation. Still, you followed through. With a full heart, we applaud your faithfulness and sincerely thank you.

Without you, Salem Alliance would be a very different place. With you, we are all growing closer to one another and closer to God. 2 Peter 3:18 is happening among us. We are growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and that is a beautiful thing.

Thank you for extending God’s grace and truth to your small group each week. You are a gift to our church family. Enjoy your summer break!

Barbara grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, which is why she’s a huge Cardinal’s baseball fan. She graduated from Purdue University, married and became a school teacher. She was called to ministry at the age of 30 and served God in Bible Study Fellowship for ten years. She attended seminary in her 40s and joined the Salem Alliance staff in 1991, currently serving as an Associate Pastor. Barbara has three children, three children-in-law and eight grandchildren who she adores!
