Church Family,

Holy Week begins this weekend with the observance of Palm Sunday and continues throughout the course of this week with Good Friday and Easter services. Within a span of seven days, we will remember some of the most significant moments in the life of Christ and ponder the events that are the very essence of our faith. I said it in the services last weekend, and I want to say it again: let’s be intentional about how we observe this week––as individuals, as families and as the body of Christ. Let us be purposeful about how we worship and honor our Lord through times of focused prayer, reflection and celebration.

Details for all Holy Week services and events are on page 4 of the bulletin; however, there are two opportunities that I would like to highlight during this week of remembering:

1. The Way of the Cross. This is a reflective experience, set up in Cedar Hall which will allow you to reflect on six different moments in the story of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. You may want to come by yourself so you have plenty of time and space to walk through the stations, or you may want to bring your family or small group and walk through the stations together. If you attended last year, you will want to come again. Some elements will be similar to last year’s experience, and some of them will be brand new.

2. Good Friday Services. Easter celebration marks the pinnacle of our story as Christ followers; however, the celebration of His resurrection means very little without remembering His death. Good Friday services allow our church family to gather and reflect. Confess and accept. Commune and partake. I encourage you to make it a point to attend one of the Good Friday services this year.

I look forward to remembering and celebrating with you.
